Become A Member

Membership is open to mothers who have sons or daughters serving in the military whether deployed or not, and to dads, other family members, and friends. We are a support and service group joining together to share our concerns, worries, our pride, and our devotion for our loved ones serving in all branches of the Armed Forces of the United States.

We are an official chapter of the Blue Star Mothers of America, Inc., a group formed during World War II. Additional information is available at the national website.

What is a Blue Star Mother?

A Blue Star Mother is a mother, stepmother or guardian who now has, or has had, children honorably serving in the United States Armed Forces.

How Do I join The Blue Star Mothers?

Membership is simple and affordable. Just fill out the membership application and return it with your $20 membership fee and start taking part in all the activities we have planned all year long.

How much time is required to be a Blue Star Mother?

Participation is completely voluntary. We all have busy lives and depend on each other to get things done when other mothers take on too much.

What are the types of opportunities for me as an active member?

There are no shortages of things to volunteer for. We use many mediums to fundraise, publicize and recruit. We also participate in all patriotic ceremonies and holidays in the region. Do I have to be a mother to join?

No. We have Blue Star Dads, Siblings and Grandparents. And we also have associate memberships for people without a relative in the service who just want to be a part of the joy that is Blue Star Mothers of Louisiana.
